Grew up in Wauconda/Island Lake past 50 years? Then you will recall Rexall Drugs...
Rexall Drugs was located in the same plaza as the Ben Franklin off Liberty Street..had everything-including a small cafe in the back with a couple booths and a counter. Place was always packed. 2 words: Vanilla Phosphates. Yes, they had phosphates up until they closed in the early 80's at their fountain. What a great place to be, Santa was always there and you could get anything you needed-greeting cards,drugs,hardware...fond memories of a townie!
