Geocache Description:


The airport opened May 15, 1929.  Western Air Express ran a daily flight from Los Angeles to Kansas City with a stop in Holbrook.  Holbrook's airport hanger was built in 1943 to accommodate the U.S. Navy Aviation Flight Training Program for 15 months.  Approximately 500 pilots were trained here.

Bring your own pencil. Cache replaced 8/25/2020.
