Day One

Dear Nuala,

Thank you very much for your lovely present of a partridge in a pear-tree

We're getting the hang of feeding the partridge now,

Although it was difficult at first to win its confidence

It bit the mother rather badly on the hand

But they're good friends now and we're keeping the pear-tree indoors in a bucket

Thank you again

Yours affectionately, Gobnait O'Lúnasa

(Christmas Countdown, 1982)

The song 'Twelve Days of Christmas' is an English Christmas carol first published in 1780 in England.

The standard tune now associated with the song is derived from a 1909 arrangement of a traditional folk melody by English composer Frederic Austin.

In 1982, actor Frank Kelly released a single 'Christmas Countdown', which was a comedy song based on the well-known carol. The song reached number 8 in the Irish charts.

The Cache

The cache is hidden in Shanganagh Park in Shankill. You're in the trees but near the path so beware of muggles! You need to bring your own pen.
