OR WE MIGHT WANT TO CELEBRATE AND PLAN FOR SOMETHING ELSE IN 2017 THAT INVOLVES GEOCACHING !
Where: The Poachers Inn, Ide, Exeter, EX2 9RW
Easily reached from the A30, A38, A380, A377 and the M5. When you turn in to the village of Ide, follow the road up through the village nearly to the top. The Poachers Inn can be found on the left hand side. They have space for about 12 cars in their car park, plus there are two other small car parks nearby.
When: Sunday 30 November. The official event will run from 2pm through to 6pm. However, if you fancy eating as well, the pub does some decent food, which is served from from 12 noon through to 9pm. Either contact the pub directly if you want to book a table (01392 273847) or note your intentions in your log so I can let the pub know.
Don't worry if you can't make it at the start or need to get away before the end, it will be good to say hello and meet people for any amount of time, long or short.
Why: Well, via Facebook, 12 people have so far expressed an interest in celebrating and planning for 2017, but it would be really good to open up the group to, and get ideas from all Geocachers, including those who don't use Facebook.
Whilst it will be important to establish a working committee for 2017, this event will be quite informal and a good time for fellow Geocachers to meet new and old friends for some general Geochat, swap TBs & coins etc etc.
Who: Every Geocacher is invited to come along. Did you go to Cumbria in 2012 or Warwickshire in 2013 or Ayr in 2014 or are you going to Essex in 2015, then your input could be very useful.
It is hoped that many of the initial 12 will be in attendance on the 30th and include Bar Sinister, ed-don, Finder-man, Forgetful Elephants, Maliplex, Moortrekka, OckmentBells, Shiggaddi, Trublatmill, Weather-IT & Wheelybarrow.
The Poachers Inn (www.poachersinn.co.uk) is quite a typical village pub. It isn't a big pub, but they do have a separate room which we can have the use of for the afternoon and most importantly, they do a decent range of local ales and is dog friendly.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY 30th NOVEMBER
