The Spokane mine was founded in 1890. It was originally intended to be a gold mine, but the mine also produced silver, lead,[4] beryl, copper, mica, hematite, graphite, and zinc.
In 1927 the town had it's best year of mining production and put it's money into building a schoolhouse. The mine eventually closed in 1940 and the town soon became abandoned.
