Previously known as Trinity Wesleyan Methodist Church. Also known locally as Outlane Over Methodist Church.
Services held in Outlane by the minister of Huddersfield Queen Street Methodist Church c.1800, using Richard Wood's house.
Later meetings held in a room over some cottages at Haighs Buildings.
The chapel was built on the north side of New Hey Road 1822.
The Sunday School was established c.1822.
A new chapel was built next to the old one 1876-78, and the old chapel used as the Sunday School from 1878.
In 1884 the Sunday School was enlarged..
A new Sunday School was built on the south side of New Hey Road opposite the chapel in 1914-15, and the old Sunday School was later demolished.
In 1964, the congregation ceased to use chapel and converted Sunday School for worship.
The chapel is still in existance today.
Not the most attractive of churches, but the graveyard on the opposite side of the road is interesting to have a walk around.
“If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first at churchmicro@gmail.coam so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats & Information page found via the Bookmark list”
