Geocache Description:

This cache is based on the original Jasmer Challenge GC1GBC1 from December 2008!

The road to completion of the Jasmer Challenge has taken us on adventures and roadtrips that we never imagined before we started this crazy hobby called geocaching!! At the time of this challenge placement, humboldt flier and AKiteFlier have found 22 caches from the year 2000 caches together, so we are placing this challenge cache together! Wouldn't be surprised to see one placed somewhere in Calif too! *wink*

The cache is at the posted coordinates, but you must meet the requirements to claim a smiley for this cache. You are welcome to find the cache, sign the log and post a note but you may not log a “find” until you’ve completed the requirements!

This is the Northern Illinois version of "The Jasmer Challenge." To claim a smiley on this cache, you must have found and logged at least one cache that was placed in every month back to the start of Geocaching (May 2000), up to and including the current month.

Jasmerb, the originator of this challenge, has encouraged other cachers to create a copy of this challenge in their local area. The difficulty and terrain ratings reflect the fact that cachers must typically travel to several states or countries to meet the requirements of this challenge. This challenge gets more difficult as time passes!

The container is VERY HARD to open - start with one corner and work your way around. BE CERTAIN it's also completely closed when you put it back please. This will ensure that it remains waterproof and the contents nice and dry! Thanks!

In order to log this cache as "found", please create a public bookmark list of your year 2000 caches found (or list them in your online log). Additionally, please provide a screenshot of your cache finds based on the Placed Month. You can do this a few different ways... If you use My Geocaching Profile you can capture and post a screen shot of your Jasmer Challenge Grid from your profile page. OR you can capture and post a screenshot of your stats from Project-GC. OR you can use GSAK to help you by using this macro: MonthlyCoverage GSAK macro then capture and post a screen shot with your log. NOTE: if you use this macro, your "found" DB in GSAK must be titled Found or the macro will not work. I simply re-named mine to Found, ran the macro, then renamed it back the way I want it.

Here is an example of AKiteFlier's profile taken from mygeocachingprofile.com:

And here is humboldt flier's profile as shown on project-gc.com.

We look forward to hearing about your adventures on the way to the completion of YOUR Jasmer Grid!!

CONGRATULATIONS to IrishCubsFan (ICF) on the FTF!!!
