Cement Playground Traditional Cache
cnwilks: It's kind of ironic that this cache, which was intended as a tribute to the skateboarders who frequent this park was probably ripped off by them twice. In any case, I couldn't find a better hide, and I'll chalk this one up as a muggle victory.

I was in junior high in 1987 when the city of Little Rock put in the bowl at Kanis Park. A group of industrious skateboarders approached the Board of Directors about building a skate park, and, in an unusual moment of generosity, the board authorized the lowest bidder to build a peanut-shaped bowl in this midtown park.
I skated here a handful of times back in the day, but I would hardly say that I dominated the place. My friends and I were happiest on flat land, content to ollie curbs, and railslide parking blocks. But we were all glad that this park was here, and it was a rare cultural victory for the youth of my time. I did see some great skaters (including a few pros) pull off some killer runs here, and this park has been a standard stop for touring pros passing through or performing in the area.
Present day, the skate park is serviced and maintained by the skateboarding community. Local skaters have led a crowdsourced effort to maintain the park, and have independently developed and built a popular street course onsite. The skate park is regularly visited by numerous pro skaters and BMX riders, and is considered a destination skate park throughout the southeast.
