Very quiet area, you may see no one else on the trail. We saw one other hiker, and just as we were leaving, one biker! Compare that to a typical weekend day in other areas of Chino Hills State Park, for example Telegraph Canyon Trail. if you go all the way to the bottom of Sonome Canyon, it is a pretty good hike out / up, either way. Recommended parking and right turn is the way we went. You could approach from the other side (look at a map), or make a loop or two-car hike of it. Realize you will be in a non-cell covered area, and although not remote by "wilderness" standards, it is rarely hiked or patrolled. Best to let someone else know where you will be.
