The Wu Jiou Tung Mountain Trail 五酒桶山步道 is a breath of fresh air away from the industrialized Nankan area of Taoyuan. Along the trail you can see a variety of trees and plant life, listen to the songs of birds and cicadas, and perhaps spot the giant Golden Orb Web Spider (Nephila clavata), which grows to the size of a large outstretched hand. Along the way there are also fine views overlooking Taoyuan.

The full trail takes about two hours to walk along pavement and dirt, and can be a bit challenging in some steep parts. However, the cache itself is located only about 300 meters from the trail head. Note: The trail leading to the cache is all uphill and up quite a number of steps.

The MJ in the title stands for mahjong, a popular game in Taiwan and one of my passions. The geocaches in this MJ series relate to mahjong in some way.

The name of this trail in Chinese is 五酒桶 wǔ jiǔ tǒng, meaning Five Wine Barrels, which is pronounced exactly like the name of two mahjong playing pieces, 5 Dot (五筒 wǔ tǒng) and 9 Dot (九筒 jiǔ tǒng).
