Geocache Description:

At this location is a marker for the historic Crown Point Military Road that ran between Fort No. 4 near Charleston, NH on the Connecticut River and Crown Point, NY which was a strategic military location on Lake Champlain. Like many other markers along this road this one was placed by the Daughters of the American Revolution in the early 1900's. This marker, at one time, had a water fountain built in. The marker was moved to it's current position from across the current US route 4a in 1959 when the road and adjacent train bridge were reconfigured. Click here Crown Point Road for more history on the CPMR.
