The Grand Hotel has had several names in the past 50 years, way back when it was supposedly a house of ill repute. Pullman Players would have plays upstairs. Great for holiday parties and Wauconda High School reunion get togethers,and the best area to stand around during the Memorial Day parade. Folk artist; Catherine Grunewald was part owner at one time and her art hung from the walls. (She was the artist that did a poster for the annual White House Easter Egg Hunt in the 80's) Inside, wood paneling and an extravagant bar are a waiting along with creaky floors, wide staircase and you can feel the slight tilt of the structure. It was called Lakeside in the mid 2000's and now, Middletons on Main.
