2800 or FTF? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

rmhopper: I just read the log indicating the cache was again "seriously Muggled." The first time was before publication. It's a great location but clearly the wrong place for a cache. We're archiving this one. Hopefully we can find another great location in the park for another cache. Those who looked for the cache before the first Muggling and the person who found the recently vandalized spot are welcome to claim the find.

Geocache Description:

I came across this tree while hiking in Pena Adobe Park. I immediately thought of ecrane

Davis' local Puzzle Meister alway finds an interesting "Tree Hide" for his century milestones. I also know that he preferes to go after high terrain geocaches. When he was going for his 2700 milestone he was kind enough to invite me along. I wasn't able to do it that day, but maybe I can virtually acompany him on his 2800th.

To get to GZ you will be hiking up a moderately steep trail. The hike itself would justify a T3.0 or T3.5 rating. At GZ there is a tree to climb. I don't believe any TOTT short of a ladder will simplify the climb and I wouldn't want to carry one up here. I think you'll spot the hiding spot from the ground but the cache will not be visible until you're up and look in.

You might find it to be a tricky climb. I would recommend going with a partner, if for no other reason than to give you an initial boost. Have fun and be safe!

Congratulations to ecrane on his FTF!

Special Recognition goes to Pullings who was first to the cache, braving a storm to search for it and to Shark Z who also searched in vain for the missing cache.
