Big thanks to Okinawa Soba for sharing this incredible place. This is said to be the oldest oak in Japan, if you consider specific species I guess, and it's definintely the oldest one in Okinawa! Beautiful tree, though no acorn found around it. There are acorns on the way to it in the jungle, if you look carefully when walking. We really enjoyed walking in the woods, and spotted a few colorful lizards! Kids are generally OK, but we had to carry our 4yo little one a substantial part of the trail. The whole trip to and fro would take 2-2.5 hours, if you take your time taking photos and having a short snack there. It goes without saying, that such a nature wonder should be protected and treated with respect. Notably, no climbing is needed to retrieve this cache. You're looking for a small tupperware.
