Buon Giorno. Welcome to my ancestral home in Sicilia. This geocache takes you to a place well known to the locals but not on most tourist agendas.
This is a local shrine with a great view that most visitors never see. The Tyrrhenian Sea which is due north of Sicilia is normally calm and the water very clear. Occasionally it is stormy and you could surf on the waves but that is somewhat rare. Enjoy this northern view towards the rest of Europe. On a clear day several of the Aeolian islands are on the horizon. While in Trabia enjoy some pizza or panelle or arincini up in the Piazza Lanza a short but uphill walk from here. This is our first time hiding a geocache and when we return to the USA we have local friends watching over this cache. Please be discreet to maintain the hiding place. P.S. although mostly only Italian and Sicilian dialect is spoken here, you will find the locals friendly and honest. Benvenuti !!!
