This year's venue is:
The Crown and Anchor
Barugh Lane
Barugh Green
Barnsley
S75 1LL
Full details regarding the pub's location, directions, menus and ales etc. can be found on the Crown and Anchor's website here
Kick-off is at 12.00 midday.
Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are clean however they must remain in the bar area at the front of the pub. Well behaved kids and OAPs are as always welcome (as long as they are clean too!)
We have reserved the front bar area for our use but we are free to use the rest of the pub/dining area if required however dogs are not allowed in the dining area
For your delight, 6 guest real ales are generally on offer as well as a bank of regular draft lagers and ales. Whisky drinkers are also well catered for!
The menus are also comprehensive catering for all requirements from sandwiches to full meals
We hope to see all the regular suspects there but equally as important, new geocachers are particularly welcome who can be assured of a warm reception and a chat about all things Geocaching related which will be readily given (especially after a few beers)
If anyone wants to set caches for the day, please feel free. There are currently over 140 active caches within 3 miles of the event location but there is always room for more!
As usual, Santa's Secret Cache packed with goodies for the kids will be parachuted somewhere into the area for the day & some way will be devised to reveal its location only to those who attend the event. A raffle will also be held to fund the cache with surplus proceeds going to The Crown and Anchor's chosen charity so raffle donations on the day will be most welcome

The venue is open from midday but due to the short days we would recommend doing any local caches in the morning before meeting up for lunch.
The Crown and Anchor is 2.7 miles from Junction 38 of the M1 and Barugh Lane is on bus routes - 93 93A 95 95A
Darton Station is a 25 minute/1.25mile walk away which can also be accessed via the above bus routes
