Koło Przemyśla obok wsi Kruhel Wielki występują rafy wapienia okresu wyższo-jurajskiego, tu i ówdzie na powierzchnię się wydobywające. Jest to wschodnie przedłużenie północno galicyjskiego pasa wapniowego, którego ślady występują koło Inwałdu pod Kalwarią, albo pod Czudcem. Wśród łomów wapienia trafia się także marmur. Na stokach góry widzimy bloki wapienne w masie fliszu głębokomorskiego, oderwane niegdyś od raf (t.z.w. tritonów). Skąd na fliszowo-lessowym Pogórzu Karpackim, obfitującym w gliny i piaskowce, znajduje się znalezisko w postaci pokładów wapienia. Kruhelską skałkę uznano ostatecznie za olistolit (z greckiego olistomai - ślizgać się, lithos - kamień) czyli blok skalny, który ześlizgnął się na dno morskie, gdzieś z odległego brzegu. Następnie wraz z osadami fliszowymi został wypiętrzony przy orogenezie Karpat. Materiał egzotyczny złożony jest ze źle wysortowanych i niewarstwowanych okruchów skalnych scementowanych zielonym, ciemnoszarym lub czerwonym spoiwem ilastym lub wapiennym.
