Geocache Description:

Mount Hope is one of the many peaks that you will pass as you drive the Great Alpine Road from Harrietville up toward Mount Hotham.

I thought that this is such a lovely name that it deserved some recognition.  The cache is a short walk from the recommended parking area, easiest access is driving from Harrietville up the mountain as parking is on the left hand side.  If you need to cross the road please pay particular attention to any traffic that will include push bike riders, please be very careful.  The terrain is undulating and you may need to negotiate some fallen snow gums as you walk in toward GZ.

As with all caches, please tred lightly, you should endeavour to leave no trace of your visit.  It is a relatively short walk and should take most cachers less than half an hour to complete this cache.  The cache itself is a straightforward hide, the container should be familiar to most cachers as is the manner it which it is hidden.

This is an alpine environment and as such I do not encourage attempts during the snow season for the obvious dangers this brings.  The best time to access the cache is between November and April however conditions may change quickly and so you should be prepared for snow in summer.

Happy hunting!
