Geocache Description:

This is a Wherigo - geocache hybrid which will take you on an adventure through the Titanic Quarter.

There are reports of issues when running this cart on Germin devices. I have looked in to this and updated the cart to fix some known Garmin issue. That said I highly recommend using any smart device and not a Garmin. Make sure you have good battery life on your device as it's a bit of a hike.

Use this link to download the Wherigo game. If you have not played any Wherigo before then you should read this link.

You are taking on the role of Titan Nick, an intrepid adventurer out to find out more about Belfast's history. Starting at the entertainment complex at the Titanic Quarter, this Wherigo cartridge will guide you past some of the lesser landmarks in the Titanic Quarter and introduce you to a selection of local and not so local characters. You can expect the entire game to take 1-2 hours.

This is an area I have walked up and down many times over recent years and having seen many different characters which I wanted to try and capture in my favourite hobby. The added bonus of writing this was testing it has kept me fit!

There are multiple paths through this game and you will not get to see them all in one go, but you will get from the start and taken through to the end area where you will find the cache.

The cache itself is quite small and contains a FTF rivet as a prize along with a few swappables. There is also a small pencil with which to sign the log but you may want to BYOP.

While you are playing this game you should pay particular attention to the instructions given throughout, especially around the Nomadic section as it can be convoluted. The good news is that you should never get stuck and there should always be a way to advance, this is especially relevant at the Nomadic. If you do feel that you are stuck then you should go through all the items, characters and tasks and see what actions there are for you to try out. If you have any queries or worries then feel free to get in contact anytime.

The game has been tested using WhereYouGo on android and on the iphone Wherigo player and it was working fine when I last touched it, honest.

It has not been tested on any Garmin device but it has been coded with the known Garmin issues in mind so there is a fair chance it will work, I make no promises though.

On that note I am leaving this space for the first person to find an actual bug or problem in the game (FTFB). There's no prize but you do get the warm feeling of having broke me! If you do see a crash please take note of everything you can and let me know.

I think it's fair to award FTFB to UlsterLatinos as the GZ for the phone easterg was wrong. Thanks to UlsterLatinos for all the feedback.

FTFB: UlsterLatinos

Once you get to the cache, you may find that the inner camo is a bit tight. If you have problems with it then leave the inner camo in the outer camo and let me know.

While you're there I recommend you also have a go at kryten2x4p's Titanic Quarter series, if you haven't already got them all. Also there's the fantastic Cleudo Titanica WhereIGo by UlsterLatinos, it's a very neat cart

Congratulations to kryten2x4p on being FTF, quite appropriate too!

Built with Urwigo and thanks to Ranger Fox.

Finally a bit of advice. I tend to use the map instead of compass navigation as it seems easier to use, but you mileage may vary.
