Cunnery Pond Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

JustAlan: Went to check on this one, and eventually found the remains of the tether where it appeared to have been cut from the post. No sign of the container anywhere, and the area has been recently cut back on the road side, so I assume it is no more.

Archiving this one, but may replace with another one nearby in the future. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

A cache and dash on the outskirts of Derby

The pond at the side of the road is called Cunnery Pond, and is a small fishing pond that feeds water into the stream that passes through the nearby Radbourne Estate.

The word cunnery is an ancient field name meaning rabbit warren and there are certainly still rabbits to be seen in the nearby estate should you decide to follow the public footpath that starts near the church (not the footpath near ground zero, it is part of the Bonnie Prince Charlie Way from Ashbourne to Derby).
