Aabenraa - Syddanmark - Danmark


Denne cache er en del af den længste “multi” cache i region Syddanmark. Serien havde oprindelig til formål at sætte fokus på danmarkskortet efter kommunalreformen i 2007. Der er cacher i alle 98 kommuner og de 5 regioner. For at finde en regions cache, skal du først finde alle kommunecacher i den region. Koordinaterne til regionscachen er placeret forrest i logbogen. Denne cache er nr. 2 i Aabenraa Kommune, da den tidligere cache er lukket.

This cache is part of the longest "multi" cache in the region of Southern Denmark. The trail was originally made with the purpose to set focus on the map off Denmark after the new local government in 2007. There are caches in all 98 municipalities and 5 regions. To find a region cache you have to locate all municipalities’s in the same region. Coordinates for the region cache is placed at the first page of the logbook. This cache is no. 2 in Aabenraa municipality as the previous cache is closed.

Vendersvold

Vendersvold eller bare ”Æ Vold” er anlagt i jernalderen i sidste halvdel af 200-tallet og udgør et ca. 500 m langt synligt anlæg af et ca. 3 km langt forsvarsanlæg beliggende på begge sider af Hærvejen mellem vådområderne ved Kopsholt i vest og Lerskov i øst.

Formålet med voldanlægget er ikke endeligt afklaret. Efter konstruktionen at dømme kan det have været rettet mod en nord fra kommende fjende, men bedømt ud fra de landskabelige omgivelser er det mere sandsynlig, at det skulle være rettet mod en fjende fra syd. Det er også foreslået, at volden har fungeret som toldgrænse mellem forskellige stammer i området, idet anlægget ikke skulle være egnet til forsvar.
 Vendersvold or just “Æ Vold” is established in the Iron Age in the last half of the 200 century and represents an app. 500 m long visible construction of an app. 3 km long defense installations on both sides of the Hærvej between Kopsholt in the west and Lerskov in the east.

The purpose of the construction is not finally clarified. When looking at the construction they might have expected enemy from the north. But judging from the scenic surroundings, it is more likely that it would be directed against an enemy from the south. It is also suggested that the construction has served as a customs border between different tribes in the area because the facility was not capable of defense.
