Woodland Wander
Balls Wood is one of Hertfordshire’s characteristic oak-hornbeam woodlands. It has a fantastic array of wildlife and plant species. Throughout the wood there are sunny rides which in the summer months abound with dragonflies and butterflies. In the spring the woodland is full of birdsong and wild flowers, amphibians and reptiles can also be seen here.
The Cache is placed within 5 yards of the path so there is no need to disturb the woodland, and is placed with kind permission of the Herts and Middlesex wildlife trust’s Reserve Officer.
Please park at the waypoint N51 46.811 W000 02.521.
There is only ‘blue badge’ parking at the entrance to Balls Wood as this is a restricted bye-way. Able-bodied should park at the given coordinates and proceed through Hertford Heath nature reserve. You are looking for a small plastic clip lock container.
We have now covered the cache, so please replace as found.
