Women in Uniform is an early Iron Maiden single from the Killers album. Its a cover of the Aussie band Skyhooks and marked somewhat of a changing of the guard in the band. Its a cheeky slightly risque track that pays homage to the hard work of women in the services- army, hospitals, etc. Featured original troubled singer Paul DiAnno on vocals before he was booted from the band and replaced by the incomparable Bruce Dickinson in the next album, The Number of the Beast.
The artwork for the single controversially features Margaret Thatcher (not for the only time) awaiting Maiden's iconic ghoul Eddie The Head. The song also led to the bands first music video and caused further tension in the band which led to original guitarist Dennis Stratton also leaving the band.
