Geocache Description:

Another in our remembering series.

This one is a 180ml sistema so not much room for swaps or trackables. Don't forget to bring your own writing stick.

Look Out! This is a very muggley area at times, so be careful as you search. There is also no need to climb or search on the memorial.

The Garfield War Monument, on the main street, comprised of a stone cairn with flagpole. On June 20th 2001, a new monument was unveiled replacing the cairn base with a concrete block. The memorial was unveiled by Len Everlyn (9th Australian Division RAE 1942-6) and dedicated by Fr. Peter Rickards, Fr. Bernard Buckley and Rev. Allen Dyall. It commemorates all the men and women of Garfield and district who served in the First World War, Second World War, Korea and Vietnam.
