Rossnowlagh beach is located approximately 8 kilometres south of Donegal Town or the same north of Ballyshannon. It has soft, golden sand and exceptional views from the sand or the cliffs on the south side. It is very popular with both local residents and tourists, with the added bonus of being able to drive across the sand.
The surf here is perfect for beginners and the local surf schools from here and Bundoran offer tuition and equipment rental. As well as surfers, this beach also attracts walkers, swimmers and all manors of watersports enthusiasts due to its ease of access.
Although this cache is located on one particular part of the beack, it is really worth walking the length of the beach and visiting either the Sand House Hotel or one of the restaurants on the souther cliffs for a drink or bite to eat afterwards.
