Geocache Description:

It is unknown when Akiu hot spa had been found. But it very old. In 6th century, Emperor Kinmei took a bath of Akiu hot springs and healed his disease of skin. He made a Waka poem for his joy of healing. Please bring your pen.

秋保温泉がいつ開湯されたかは定かではありませんが、その歴史は古く、６世紀に第２９代欽明天皇が皮膚病の治療のために秋保温泉の湯を搬送させ沐浴したところ全快したとされます。欽明天皇はその喜びを歌に詠んだそうです。 “覚束な雲の上まで見てしかな鳥のみゆけば跡はかもなし”(な鳥のみゆ＝名取の御湯) 筆記具を持参ください。
