Į pietus nuo senųjų, piliakalnyje įkurdintų kapinių, kairiajame Ventos krante, stūkso išvaizdus medžiais apaugęs gūbrys, nuo skardžio atskirtas gilia griova, nueinančia į Ventos upės slėnį. Tai Jurakalnis, mėgstama papilėniškių poilsio, pasivaikščiojimų vieta.
Griova toje vietoje apaugusi gausia augmenija. Ją slepia juodalksnio vainikai. Kad lengviau būtų surasti šią garsiąją atodangą, reikia nuo griovos žiočių, atsiveriančių į Ventos slėnį, paėjėti apie 75 metrus. Ji yra apie 580 m į pietų pietvakarius nuo gelžbetoninio tilto per Ventos upę Papilėje ir apie 150 m į pietvakarius nuo buvusio malūno.
