Ever wondered what it would be like to live on Mars? If you take away the trees at GZ, you could have landed on the red planet itself! So, climb into your spacesuit and become a geologist as you explore this interesting Martian landscape for yourself.
Would you really like to go to Mars? Then you might be a candidate for the “Mars One” mission which aims to set up a permanent human settlement on Mars, commencing in 2024. The exploration of Mars is the next great step in the human quest to venture out into the universe.
The trip to Mars will take about seven months, but… it’s a one way journey!! When you arrive, the fun really begins with the task of the first crew of four Martian colonists to construct the new settlement and make their home a nice place to live. Every two years, another crew of four astronauts will depart Earth to grow the colony. The main tasks of the Martian colonists will be construction, maintenance and research. Of course, there will be time for leisure pursuits. Communication back to Earth presents some challenges due to the time delay. A one-way transmission between Earth and Mars can take between 3min and 21min!
