In the spirit of continuing the series created by cacher Sean J. Allen, this cache is placed at a location from The Walking Dead television show that was filmed in and around Atlanta.
The television show is based on The Walking Dead comic book, written by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. 'The Walking Dead' is a story about the aftermath of a zombie Apocalypse and follows a group of survivors who travel across America looking for a new home to get away from the undead. The small group is lead by Sheriff Rick Grimes, who is the sheriff of a small Georgia town.
Season Five
After spotting a car with tell-tale 'white cross' markings - similar to one that had taken Beth at the end of season four - Daryl and Carol follow it to downtown Atlanta where their car stalls out, causing them to lose the trail. Making their way on foot to gain a better vantage point, they spot another vehicle in the distance bearing the white crosses. Heading out to inspect the vehicle, they are followed and robbed at gunpoint by Noah, who happens to be an acquaintance of Beth from his time at Grady Memorial Hospital. Unarmed except for a knife and a handgun, they eventually manage to reach the vehicle, which is wrecked on the bridge and perched precariously over the edge. Unfortunately, while searching for clues, they are trapped in the vehicle by a herd of walkers and are forced to make the crazy decision to strap in and take the shortcut to ground level.
From the cache location (near the appropriately named Walker Street), you get can get a terrific view of downtown, the Mercedes Benz Stadium and State Farm (formerly Philips) Arena, which is why I thought this location worthy of a cache. The rail line below will lead you south to two additional 'Walking Dead' caches nearby. Enjoy the view...and if you decide to go down to ground level, please don't take Daryl and Carol's route!
