Geocache Description:

A quick cache and dash (possibly wink) by the Wilts & Berks Canal in Shrivenham.

The Wilts & Berks canal runs to the south of Shrivenham village and this cache is located near the free car park. From the car park you can see the Ron Martin Memorial Slipway. The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust have been restoring the canal, with help and funding from various quarters. Ron Martin was a hard working member of the Inland Waterways Association (who helped fund the slipway). The slipway, apart from being designed as a slipway for boats once the canal is fully restored and working, also allows the surface water from the car park to drain into the canal.

Note that this area can get busy as it is popular with walkers, and dog-walkers, so beware of being muggled!!

The cache is well hidden and may take some locating, although more experienced geocachers may not find it a problem. Wheelchair users should be able to approach and find this cache although there is some grass to cross.

Please replace exactly as found.

While in the area why not also find Boats Long Gone?
