When I was 5 or 6 my parents gave me plastic ukulele for my birthday and a 'real' wooden one when I was 9. I learned how to read music from the "Learn to Play a Uke" books. I also acquired a couple of different sized recorders and several melodicas. When the Greater Victoria School Board started teaching instrument classes in the schools I took up the violin. I still play the ukes for my grandchildren but my abilities for the other instruments have left me - my appreciation for music has not. Please feel free to add you own music stories in your logs.
