Bushes and Fields - Pilgrim Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

skyebomonkeytown: In the area today and checked this one, per the DNFs it’s not there. It’s time to archive this one and free up the playing space for someone else to put a new hide.

Geocache Description:

Bushes and Fields is a series I am creating showcasing some local HomeBUSH and StrathFIELD green spots, and the history associated.

Each cache holds information you will need to retain should you wish to find the final in this series, http://coord.info/GC5GVF0 (link will only work once published).

This cache is a direct copy of the previous cache located here - Pilgrim Park (this was the first cache in mainland Australia I ever found, so it's only appropriate I use its location for my first in this new series).
Pilgrim Park is a neighbourhood park designed as an integral feature of the surrounding residential area, providing recreation opportunities and enhancement of local amenity and streetscape.  The objective of this park is provision of safe play areas especially for children under surveillance of adults.  This park features a dedicated children’s playground.
The land on which Pilgrim Park is built contains a large natural watercourse. The land was acquired by Strathfield Council for a public park as the land was considered unsuitable for building.  This park was named in honour of William Pilgrim, a Mayor of Strathfield Council.  (Reference: Jones, C, Parks, Reserves & Memorials of Strathfield, 2004).

The cache itself is not near the playground equipment and should not cause any 'concern'.
Look slightly above head height for a micro - too small for swaps and you will need to bring your own writing implement. There are two access points to the park with (free) on-street parking in front of the park. It is accessible at all times (there are residences nearby so appropriate stealth is recommended, as always).

Congratulations to Martin cousins on being the First to Find, 12 hours after publication. Well done!
