This imposing Norman Church is situated on a hill, it's spire is a landmark over the Village and can be seen for miles. A Christian ’llan’ or Church settlement was formed in Llanddarog in the middle of the sixth century by Twrog, a Celtic Saint.
The early settlement contained a place of worship with a few crude huts on the site of the present Churchyard, it is circular in form and is elevated upon the surrounding area. Its north wall is very ancient but concealed today by the capping. The graves and stones date from the 17th century.
