Part of the Westbury White Horse Ring. The series, originally placed by Gowenhouse, has been reinstated and #6 restored in line after the area which held the original was absorbed into the MOD training area.
The Westbury White Horse area has historical interest and the views are fabulous, even on a dull day.<br> The nearby beacon was placed as part of a nationwide series of beacons to begin the celebration of 25 years on the Throne of Elizabeth II in 1977. They were to be lit once more in 2012 at her Diamond Jubilee. Beacons were lit throughout the UK, beginning with a beacon in Tonga and ending with the one in London, lit by her Majesty.
