Geocache Description:

Camo tupperware hidden at end of Sabino Canyon Open Space tour. Cache is not at posted coordinates, this is the parking area where your adventure begins...

Five zone, plus easter egg, plus final cache wherigo that will take you on a historical and physical tour of Sabino Canyon Open Space. Complete tour takes less than an hour with about 200 ft total ascent in elevation over a 2-mile walk. There are picnic tables near two of the zones.

Nearly all of the the hike is on well laid-out trails that loop through the property. The only bushwhack is at Zone 2, which is about 150 ft or 50m off the trail (that is to your left immediately after you enter the gate on the west portion of the property). The given terrain rating is for this particular portion of the hike; the rest of the hike is more of a two star terrain. Please watch out for pointy things when you step off the trail, particularly rusty nails and shards, around the zone 2 area. BTW, if you get turned around at Zone 2, head toward the near telephone post, which is actually on the trail on the way to Zone 3.

This Wherigo has been tested with an android (Samsung 4S/WhereYouGo) and an iPhone running the associated software. If you have not tried a Wherigo yet, the CO's will be happy to try to accompany you on this outing. Cachers have used the Garmin cartridge successfully on this cache.

To get started, click on Related Web Page link above (under the Difficulty and Terrain rating), this will take you to the Wherigo site (Wherigo Sabino Odyssey). On the left side of the page under Download cartridge file for: (select your Garmin GPSr type) and place the file on your computer using the Download Now button. Follow the directions immediately after the Download Now button to move the file to your Garmin GPSr.

If you are using a phone instead of a Garmin GPSr, you can use the Related Web Page link or use this link. On the right side of the page, under WGAR, click on Download Cartridge to your computer to get the file for your player (e.g., Android phones use WhereYouGo). Upload this file to your device (for Androids, upload from your computer to the Phone under folder WhereYouGo) and start the device's Wherigo software (for the Android, start the WhereYouGo app). Select Wherigo Sabino Odyssey and off you go to the Sabino Canyon Open Space parking lot to begin your adventure.
