Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the published co-ordinates - but it is nearby.

Baybayin was the main writing system of Filipinos before Spanish Colonisation. There are a few reasons offered why Baybayin is no longer widely used. One is that it is not "compatible" with the incoming Spanish language. Also many Filipinos found it more advantageous and easier to use the Spanish language to get ahead under the Spanish regime at the time.

Baybayin was the written system of the Filipino language, Tagalog. Today, Tagalog is written in the latin alphabet. Baybayin script does not have specific characters for numerals - so numbers are expressed in word form.
