You are looking for a brightly colored container somewhat hidden behind a tree. There are ways to avoid the poison oak getting there and there wasn't any near the cache when it was placed.
I am always intrigued by flat spots on hillsides in this park, I often wonder if there is a boarded up mine hole or some old relics of the mining days. Maybe a foundation from an old house to shack. Possibly the a cache of buried coins stashed by California's bandits of the past. This spot is pretty flat. I didn't find any signs of an exciting or even interesting history. Just some deer and pig tracks.
