We got wind of this area by way of a close relative who was here last week. We decided to make the hike out with some friends today and have a look for ourselves. Yep, there's alot of carving in these old rocks. Some are modern, others are not. See if you can find the ancient ones and decipher a meaning.
The cache itself is located away from the giant rock formations for a reason. Please recamo the hide as well as you found it so that others may sign the log after you. This will be a pretty easy find for most. As the crow flies, the cache is a little over .5 miles from parking, but it may feel a little longer due to slight elevation changes. Stay on the Gamelands road until you get close to the cache, but don't be afraid to spend some time here to find some neat carvings. There were Native Americans living here at some point in time, though their carvings are more difficult to find than the modern ones. We wonder if the iron-ore veins that are so prominant in these rocks are what kept natives in the area?
We hope you enjoy this new cache site and the nice walk in. Happy Hunting everybody! This is hide #259 for us!!! We can't wait to read your thoughtful logs about this area. This place deserves a little recognition, reflection, and respect.
