Yes, it’s that time of year again, when the TV advertises all those expensive toys you know your kids will demand, enthuse about on Christmas Day when they open the present, play with on Boxing Day and have consigned to the back of the cupboard by the New Year.
Then there’s the stress of deciding either where to spend Christmas Day or who you should invite over for Christmas dinner.
Why do we put ourselves through all the stress and strain every December? How many times have you said “Next year, we’re getting away from all this and going on a cruise”?
Christmas? BAH HUMBUG!!
You deserve at least one evening free of all the hype, so come to the Shoulder of Mutton, Worrall on Tuesday 16th December, where, for three or four hours, “Christmas” is banned – yes, we’re bringing the swear box again.
Good company, food and refreshment guaranteed. For those ale drinkers who like to keep it local, the bar has Farmer’s Blonde and Black Sheep on tap.
The event officially starts at 7pm, but we’ll be there earlier to eat.
Tuesday is burger night from 5pm until 8.30pm. but the bar menu is also available, or there’s the main menu if you prefer something more substantial. Check out the food at http://www.shoulderofmuttonworrall.co.uk/food-and-drink/ . If you intend to partake of the menu, please mention it in your “will attend” log so we can let the chef know how many to expect. Children are welcome; they even have their own menu.
The pub has a large car park, or if you come by public transport, take the No 57 bus service to Stocksbridge and get off in Worrall. Walk up Kirkedge Road (past the new cycle sculpture) and take the second right to a warm caching welcome at the Shoulder.
