Geocache Description:

Mullaghcarn Mountain stands at 542 metres and on a clear day gives 360° views of the surrounding countryside.

This is the most southerly peak in the Sperrins it can be approached from many directions, On the edge of Gortin Glen Forest (EDIT :- 2019 the parking & forest drive is now free)

On the last Sunday in July locals continue the old tradition of climbing the hill (Cairn Sunday)

Walkers can park at the main pay carpark (waypoint given) and follow the forest paths to the trailhead and on to the summit, or drive along the forest drive and park at the trailhead for a 1 mile walk to the cache

Or park at Oak Lough and walk cross country to the cache, I haven't approached from this way so cannot add more

At the trailhead your GPSr will say distance of 0.5 mile to the cache but the path zig-zags

The cache is a small lock&lock box, log book and pencil only

Appropriate clothing and footware should be worn and when leaving your vehicle, hide all valuables out of sight

There may be restrictions on access to parts of the forest from time to time to facilitate forest operations. Please adhere to safety signage which will be posted for your safety.
