2014 metų Balandžio 25 d. Kuršių nerijos nacionaliniame parke tarp Alksnynės ir Juodkrantės kilęs didžiulis gaisras sunaikino nemažą dalį parko miško.
Ugnis Kuršių nerijoje suniokojo apie pusantro šimto hektarų miško. Anot ministro, šito gaisro, jei lyginsime su 2006 metų gaisru, padaryti nuostoliai žymiai mažesni.

Spit fire destroyed about one hundred and fifty acres of forest. According to the minister, this fire, when compared with the 2006 fire, the damage done to significantly lower.
