Pomeroy Forest Traditional Cache

Pomeroy Forest is a small  woodland of 175 hectares on the eastern edge of Pomeroy. There are two circular walks here, The Renardine Trail (Red markers) & The Grace Drennan Trail (Yellow markers) Notice boards will give you information as to how the names were chosen. There are older tracks whick are still passable with care.

The Forestry School has closed but the building is still in good condition, other buildings you pass on the way to the cache are outbuildings from the old estate courtyard, The main house was demolished after Forest Service aquired the estate

REMINDER: Dog owners can bring dogs into forests and woodlands, provided they:

• always keep their dogs under control
• don't allowed their dogs to distress other forest users or wildlife

Dog owners should be responsible and clear up after their dogs to avoid problems for other walkers.

The cache is a 1/2 mile walk from the parking place, a medium sized Lock&lock container with log book and pen only

The forest is decorated and used for "Santa's Magical Forest" and Halloweens Forbidden Forest.

Occasionally there may be restricted access to parts of the forest during forestry work. Please adhere to safety advice on forest signs.
