Fort McAllister Historic Park is located on the banks of the Ogeechee River, this scenic park showcases the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Nestled among giant live oaks, Spanish moss and salt marsh, this park is a beautiful location for camping, fishing, boating and picnicking. It is also part of Georgia’s Colonial Coast Birding Trail so bring a picnic, experience the park’s history, and see the wildlife on the nearby nature trail..
My Mini-cacher daughter won this container at the 2014 Georgia Geocamper event which took place right in-between the structures you can see to your front while standing at ground zero facing the cache. Cache initially stocked to the gills with mostly kiddie swag, please remember if you trade to always trade even or up. There is one of my personal tags for the FTF and an activated TB to move along if you wish.
