Geocache Description:

FootballMicro 004 - Hall Lane, Willington

Home to Willington AFC, situated in centre of Willington, Co.Durham.

Formed 1906 playing in Auckland & District League.  Joined Northern League in 1911, staying for 94 years before relegation.

8 years in Wearside League ended in a championship and promotion back to Northern League second division.

FA Amateur Cup Winners in 1950, beating Bishop Auckland at Wembley.  3 Northern League titles.

Cache is magnetic nano so you will need tweezers and a pencil.

You'll need to use stealth as the location faces directly onto a row of houses.  The aged miners are watching !

Shines new green fence now in place ! Cache is tucked up out of sight.

Straightforward park and grab with ample parking adjacent, or a nice short detour from the Bishop Auckland to Brandon cycle path. New location since fence replacement so make sure you have updated coordinates. The Football Micro Series is a series established by CoweyFamily and EL-JO.
