丸子宿は、江戸から数えて20番目の宿場町で、今の静岡市駿河区丸子にありました。
東海道中でもっとも小さい宿場です。
名物はとろろ汁で、現在も食することが出来ます。
「梅若菜、丸子の宿のとろろ汁」と松尾芭蕉が詠み、また十返舎一九の東海道中膝栗毛に丸子の名物としてとろろ汁の話が出てくるほど有名でした。
また、浮世絵にもとろろ汁の店が描かれています。
丸子の先には、宇津ノ谷峠があり峠越えのためにとろろを食べて力を付けたようです。

The Mariko post town was counted from Edo the 20th post town, located in Mariko, Suruga-ku, Shizuoka-shi.
It is the smallest post town all over Tokaido.

It seems that there was Utsunoya Pass next of Mariko, grated yam is eaten for reach the Utsunoya Pass.
