Villa Aruch Traditional Cache

Aruch è l'opera (acciaio Ø800x15 cm) che Mauro Staccioli ha ideato e realizzato per l'omonima Villa fiorentina. La scultura vi si erge su un contrafforte del muro di cinta. Il suo movimento elicoidale, realizzato attraverso la torsione e la saldatura di un cilindro in acciaio dorato dalla ruggine, dall'esterno ne inquadra la facciata verso le retrostanti colline, dall'interno spicca contro i palazzi della Firenze Nova, spingendo lo sguardo in alto verso il cielo.

La scultura nasce durante i lavori di restauro di Villa Aruch sulla suggestione prodotta in Staccioli dalla lunga storia della Villa: … Poco più avanti un edificio cadente e abbandonato è quanto rimane della Villa Aruch che nel Trecento era degli Adimari, poi dei Pitti, dei frati della SS. Annunziata e quindi degli Orlandini Del Beccuto. Fra i pietrami consunti e spezzati traspaiono anche le belle decorazioni che arricchivano l'edificio nel XVI e nel XVII secolo. Il nome della villa deriva dall'ultimo acquirente storico dell'immobile Eugenio Aruch, illustre professore di veterinaria che vi morì nel 1937. Conosciuta per anni con il nome de “la Casaccia” a causa del suo protratto stato di degrado, attraverso i recenti lavori di restauro è stata trasformata in appartamenti per vacanze e i nuovi proprietari hanno chiesto a Staccioli di realizzarvi un segno scultoreo che potesse essere un landmark del luogo. Quella che Staccioli ha ideato è una forma assolutamente nuova all'interno del lungo percorso dell'artista. Progettata fin dall'inizio per spiccare su Villa Aruch, la scultura è stata prima presentata nel 2013 al Castello di Racconigi in occasione della Biennale internazionale di Scultura e un esemplare di dimensioni maggiori, color nero acciaio, è esposto nello Château de Seneffe vicino Bruxelles in Belgio.

Its helical motion, made by twisting and welding a steel cylinder golden rust, from the outside it frames the facade facing the backwaters hills, stands out from the inside against the palaces of "Firenza Nova", turn your gaze up toward the sky.

The sculpture was created during the restoration of Villa Aruch on the suggestion made in Staccioli from the long history of the villa: ...
