| Arenac County is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 17,269. The county seat is Standish. |
|
|
| Arenac County was organized in 1883 and the name Arenac, coined by Henry Schoolcraft, is a derivation of the Latin "arena" and the Native American "ac". The combined words mean “A sandy place for a good footing.” |
|
|
To find the geocache, you must follow these instructions:
1. Begin by doing a bit of math. Identify the year the county was organized. Multiply that value by 4. that number =Z, Subract 222 from Z. Let that value = Y.
2. From the posted coordinates travel Y feet at a true north azimuth of 186.3 degrees.
3. You will find what you are seeking hidden in the typical manner. When you see the Bridge ahead sign you will know you are close. |
