LETTERS FROM HOME CRAWFORD COUNTY




Crawford County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 14,074. The county seat is Grayling.


The County is named for Col. William Crawford, a Revolutionary War soldier killed in 1782 while fighting Native Americans in Ohio. It was set off in 1840 as Shawono County, but renamed Crawford in 1843. The county was organized in 1879.


To find the geocache, you must follow these instructions:
1. Read through the description of Crawford County. There are five different years listed there. Take the sum of all the years and let that value = A. Let A + 498 =B.
2. From the posted coordinates travel B feet at a true north azimuth of 23.9 degrees.
3. You will find what you seek hanging around near there.


In each geocache container you will find a stamp. Use this stamp to complete your Map of MI (related webpage above)


Remember to bring your own ink pad. No ink pads will be placed in any of the geocache containers in this series. Please be considerate of your fellow geocachers and use a wet wipe to clean the stamp before you put it back.
