Am descoperit acest cimitir în 2011, în timp ce pedalam spre Iași. Trecusem de atâtea ori pe lângă el fără măcar să-l observ, așa cum sunt sigur că mulți dintre voi au făcut-o. E drept, când pedalezi e mult mai probabil să observi lucruri pe marginea drumului decât dacă ești la volan sau mai rău, mergi cu autobuzul...
Pe atunci cimitirul era îngropat în buruieni aproape la fel de înalte ca și crucile metalice frumos aliniate, dar în afară de iarba crescută în exces, totul arăta acceptabil. Acum, când am revenit aici după atâția ani, am constatat cu tristețe că mai bine de jumătate din cruci au dispărut iar restul sunt deja rupte. Desigur, au ajuns la fier vechi.
I came across this cemetery while cycling from Roman to Iași, back in 2011. I had passed this place so many times before without noticing it and I am sure many people did just the same. True, when cycling it's easier to spot things on the edge of the road then when you are going by car, or worse, by public transport. Back then the place was almost buried in the tall grass, but besides that everything looked ok. Now, as i returned here to hide the cache, I sadly found that most of the metal crosses have been vandalized or even stolen completely. Most likely they ended up being sold as scrap metal, for a small amount of money..
În scurt timp cred că se va nărui tot ce e acolo și cu siguranță cele două cruci mari de metal vor sfârși tot la fier vechi. Cu toate acestea, cimitirul nu este abandonat pentru că încă mai găsești coroane pe monumentul eroilor ce se află în mijloc. Nu se știe cât va mai rezista nici monumentul, nici cimitirul, așa că hai să-l descoperim înainte să dispară.
I think that very soon the whole place will be destroyed and the big metal crosses will also be scrapped and sold as recyclable iron. The truth is that the cemetery is not abandoned, and I say that because you can still find flowers on the monument. I am unsure how log will the monument last, or the whole cemetery, so let's discover it while it's still there.
Cache-ul e simplu de găsit și puteți parca fără probleme mașina pe partea opusă, pe drumul lateral ce duce spre comuna Al. I. Cuza. Cache-ul nu este recomandat copiilor și de asemenea l-am clasificat drept zonă periculoasă deoarece presupune traversarea unui drum european destul de circulat. Fiți prudenți!
The cache is easy to find and you can park your car safely on the opposite side of E58, on the side road that goes to Al. I. Cuza. The cache is not recommended for kids and I also added the „danger” attribute since you need to cross an European Road that can have big traffic once in a while. Be careful!
Ca regulă generală în căutarea cache-urilor: vă rog fiți blânzi cu pungulița zip-lock. Știm cu toții cât sunt de fragile.
