When the United States realized they were about to become part of World War II the army asked 135 companies for working prototypes of a four wheel drive reconnaissance car. The American Bantam Car Company from Butler, Pennsylvania was one who responded to the call. This cache series was done to bring awareness to our area and to a role that Butler, Pennsylvania played in history.
Doing this series you will learn things about the jeep, the four wheel drive in general, and other vehicles, companies and inventions that came about because of the jeep. Each cache will have a question you will have to find the answer to in order to get the correct physical coordinates.
This is a 35mm film can at N41 0_.083 W079 51.203. The Jeffery ______ was the first 4x4 truck designed for military use. The missing digit in the coordinates is the amount of letters in the missing word.
Because there are so many caches in this series we will read all "Did not find", "Write note" and "Needs maintenance" logs but we do not have time to read all the "found it" logs. Post your thoughts, favorites, positive comments, photos, jeep stories, and whatever you want us to read and then copy and paste for all the rest of the caches in the series. (For this series we really don’t mind.) If there is one log that you really want us to read or you post a picture in a log let us know which cache it is.
